Canada and Latin America Conference CALL FOR PAPERS The Canadian Foreign Policy Journal, the Centre for Trade Policy and Law and the Canadian Foundation for the Americas (FOCAL) are planning a conference in early March 2008 to address some of the important questions with respect to Canada’s relationship with Latin America and the Caribbean. Without specifying a list of topics, we are interested in issues such as: capital flows, including remittances, and their consequences; business and competitiveness, including corporate-social responsibility; migration; corruption; drugs; and security. The purpose of the conference and subsequent special issue of CFPJ is to stimulate new thinking on current and emerging issues that are relevant to Canada’s future role in the hemisphere. Revised papers will be published in a special issue of Canadian Foreign Policy. Deadline for paper proposals (at least a page) is September 30, 2007. Successful applicants will be notified by the middle of October. Papers accepted for the conference will be subject to peer review prior to publication in the journal. Proposals should be sent to Laura Ritchie Dawson and Jean Daudelin: ldawson@ccs.carleton.ca and Jean_Daudelin@carleton.ca.
